All roads lead to Wales for final Stellantis Cup Shoot-out

Final round crunch-time for Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup IRE & UK on the Cambrian Rally Two-way fight for title as Kyle McBride and Joseph Kelly prepare to lock horns Event also hosts the finale for the Probite British Rally Championship Junior ERC prize fund worth €40,000 for overall champion waiting for the winner Final €5,500 worth of parts vouchers to be awarded in Llandudno

The winner takes all battle - the 2025 Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup IRE & UK champion will be crowned at the Cambrian Rally - the final round of the season. It’s all in the hands of Kyle McBride and Joseph Kelly, who are set to go head-to-head on the classic Welsh forestry stages for one of the biggest prizes in British and Irish motorsport. As well as the Cup victory, the event also hosts the Probite British Rally Championship, with both Peugeot 208 Rally4 drivers seeking the Junior BRC title to complement the cup.

The Stellantis Cup contest organised and promoted by Race & Rally, Michelin Motorsport, Protyre Motorsport Ireland and LP Tents for cars from automotive giant Stellantis, has seen five different drivers stand on the podium - but only two have become round winners - and they will fight it out in a winner takes all fight for supremacy. The lucrative title sits between Irish drivers Kyle McBride and Joe Kelly who are chasing the substantial support package consisting of championship registration, entries and tyres for five rounds worth up to €40,000, for the FIA Junior European Rally Championship in 2026.

Kyle McBride and Darragh Mullen come into the shootout as the in form crew, having taken victory on the last two rounds in Cork and Ceredigion. Both were on their favoured asphalt surface, but McBride with his spellbinding run will hold a slender one point lead ahead of the gravel Cambrian Rally - which utilises infamous stages from the former British round of the World Rally Championship - Wales Rally GB.

If McBride can find his form on the loose - the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy driver has every chance of winning the Cup, but he must finish in front of Joseph Kelly on the road.

And in return, Joseph Kelly with co-driver Killian McArdle must finish in front of McBride on the timesheet if they are to lift the cup. Kelly has performed brilliantly this season and has been the man to beat on the gravel. It will have pained the Irishman to see his championship lead erode over the past two asphalt events, but biding his time, the tactical side of Kelly will know he holds the psychosocial advantage when it comes to pace on the gravel forestry stages.

The battle of the ages is almost upon us between McBride and Kelly. However there are other registered drivers on the entry list who could well put the cat amongst the pigeons in the final order shake-up.

Not in the championship hunt - but hoping to put pressure on those in front will be Sam Mason and James Seymour. They have one podium under their belt, and will be searching for a second as they aim to put the demons of the Rali Ceredigion retirement to bed in their Peugeot 208 Rally4. The final registered crew on the road will be Natalie Robinson and Sam Collis in their Peugeot 208 Rally4. Robinson has dipped her toe into the Cup contest this season and impressed with her gravel appearances in Scotland and England, with a brace of fourth placed finishes. Natalie will be hoping to consolidate a top five in the standings, with the hope of doing that with a dream rostrum finish in the process.

The final event of the year is a one-day, fast and furious blast in the Welsh countryside. Adding to the Cambrian occasion, Race & Rally will be offering their final vouchers of 2025 to the Cup podium finishers. The winner will walk home with a €3,000 parts voucher, while second and third in Llandudno will swell their accounts with €1,500 and €1,000 respectively. Backed by Race & Rally with support from Michelin Motorsport, Protyre Motorsport Ireland and LP Tents, the championship shoot-out is ready to be let loose on the 25th October.
