BTRDA 2025 Calendar

Posted on November 20, 2024

Since the BTRDA Gold & Silver Star Rally Championships were first introduced in 1953, the BTRDA ‘Stars’ have become some of the most sought-after accolades in British rallying and are worn with pride by those whose efforts have deemed them worthy of the title. Joined, more recently, by the Bronze Star Championship in a no-less keenly fought series for 1400cc cars, the calendar of events is eagerly anticipated by prospective competitors.

Welcoming all vehicles conforming to current Motorsport UK technical regulations, the PROTYRE BTRDA Rally Series begins with its traditional visit to the Lake District for the Malcolm Wilson Rally which returns to its traditional one-day format in 2025. Next up – and a new addition to the line-up – is Welshpool-based Rally North Wales prior to the Border Counties Rally, winner of the Bill Turner Trophy awarded to the ‘Best Event’ in the BTRDA Series in 2022. The Nicky Grist Stages precedes the summer break while the Woodpecker Stages brings it to a close before the Series moves on to the North York Moors for the Trackrod Forest Stages at the end of September. The Cambrian Rally heralds the annual pilgrimage to the forests of North Wales and then the BTRDA is pleased that the Grizedale Stages – already a qualifying round of the Reis Motorsport Insurance Motorsport UK English Rally Championship – has stepped up to close the Series.

BTRDA Rallies Committee Chair Neil Cross is looking forward to the forthcoming season, commenting ‘Maintaining the BTRDA’s ethos of ‘Serious Fun’, we’re pleased to reveal our 2025 calendar. We hope it provides another challenging year of forest stage rallying for our competitors old and new.’ 2024 will go down in the history books as the year that Elliot Payne became the first driver to win the BTRDA Gold Star Rally Championship on three consecutive occasions, emulating the success of Matthew Robinson who did likewise in the BTRDA Silver Star Championship between 2012 & 2014 in his Escort Mk2.

Championship regulations will be published in December with further information on the PROTYRE BTRDA Rally Series at www.btrdarally.com
