Cambrian Rally

60th Anniversary Dinner

Posted on September 12, 2015

Phil Mills, Mike Broad, and Howard Davies who are all almost as well known for their public speaking talents as for their expertise in the hot seat, will be reminiscing about their careers to entertain guests at the Cambrian’s Diamond Jubilee Dinner at the St George’s Hotel in Llandudno, on October 15th.

Phil Mills co-drove Petter Solberg to victory in the 2002 World Rally Championship, and also has his name in the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame as the first Welshman to win the Welsh Rally. He joined Solberg at Ford in 1999 and later moved with him to the Subaru World Rally team.

Mike Broad, has over 30 years experience in British and World Rallying and may be best known for co-driving for ex British champion Russell Brookes, but he also sat in the hot seat for the late, legendary Colin McRae, and now helps and mentors stars of the future.

Howard Davies, who navigated Gwyndaf Evans to British championship success in the 1990s, and is also well known as a presenter on Welsh language television channel S4C, will compere the evening which will also be attended by past winners of the Cambrian dating back to its early days in the 1950s.

Cambrian secretary Dave Thomas is putting together a collection of memorabilia for display on the evening and would like to hear from anyone who has items they are willing to lend. He can be contacted on 07788995345.
